Girls Tennis (CIF SJS DII Playoffs)

Central Valley 6, Cesar Chavez (Stockton) 3

The Hawks were ready for the moment and picked up the first ever playoff win for the girls tennis program!  CV wins came from 3 Singles Aaliyah Jauregui, 4 singles Jasleen Kaur, 5 singles Liz Cazarez, 6 singles Harkiran Sandhu, 1 doubles Valerie Espinoza/Valeria Sanchez Luna, 3 doubles Roxana Orozco/Genesis Velasquez Pedraza.  The Hawks will now advance to the quarterfinal playoff round this Wednesday when they travel to #1 seed Gregori to take on the Jaguars at 2:00pm.  Congrats to the Hawks on a memorable win and good luck in the next round. 

 

Football (from last week)

Varsity: Ceres 36, Central Valley 7

JV: Ceres 17, Central Valley 14

Frosh: Central Valley 34, Ceres 0

The Hawks football season came to end on Friday night a 36-7 loss to crosstown rival, Ceres High.  The Hawks lone score came from a nice 51 yard TD pass from Edgar Peralta to Antonio Burgos.  The JV Hawks lost a heart-breaker by the score of 17-14 with the game ending on a interception in the endzone.  The Frosh Hawks completed their magical season with a 34-0 shutout over the Bulldogs and a perfect 10-0 record.  The football program will now hit things hard in the off-season and look to build off of the success from the lower level teams as the Frosh and JV Hawks combined to an impressive overall record of 17-2-1.
